Which five checks separate two peptide vendors?

Here’s the rubric, before either name enters the picture. Five checks, and all of them are answerable from a browser without emailing anybody.

The first is provenance, which comes down to what verbs the about page uses. “We synthesise, purify and quality test” describes a production line the company claims to operate. “Manufactured in the United States” describes where something happened without saying who did it. Neither phrasing is dishonest, and they carry different amounts of information, so read them literally rather than for tone.

The second is whether a laboratory is named. An unnamed lab is an unfalsifiable claim, and the whole point of third-party testing is that a second party can be checked. When a name appears, you can look up the lab, confirm it runs the assay in question, and see whether the certificate’s layout matches what that lab actually issues. Look for the name in two places, the site’s prose and the certificate document itself, because plenty of vendors are vague in the copy and specific in the PDF.

The third is panel scope. Purity, identity, bacterial endotoxin, and sterility are four different questions. HPLC answers the first, mass spectrometry the second, and the remaining two need their own assays. A vendor covering all four is doing something the field mostly doesn’t, and a vendor covering two is doing what’s common. Knowing which you’re getting is the point.

Being straight about it, Paramount Peptides takes the documentation rows. Naming Accumark Labs on the certificate panel, keeping a searchable lot archive with historical certificates rather than just the current one, and printing the milligram split for a three-peptide blend are three things Biotech Peptides didn’t do on the pages reviewed. Biotech Peptides is ahead on catalog breadth by a wide margin and states its purity threshold and method more explicitly in ordinary site copy. Where they’re level, endotoxin and sterility, both would need to answer the same question from you.

How to verify either supplier yourself

  • Open a certificate and read the header, not the filename. An issuing laboratory, a lot number, a test date, and every method sitting next to its result is what a usable certificate looks like.
