The hardest part of buying research peptides isn’t finding a supplier. It’s that every supplier looks identical from the outside, and you’re being asked to tell them apart using nothing but the words they chose to put on their own website. Third-party tested, pharmaceutical grade, highest purity, GMP: every one of those phrases appears on sites we’d trust and on sites we wouldn’t, which means none of them are doing any work for you.
So here’s a different way to approach it. Instead of trying to judge whether a company seems legitimate, judge what it has committed to in public and whether that commitment could be checked by a stranger. Marketing language is free to write. Documentation costs something, and the things a company is willing to put in writing where a competitor could challenge it are the things worth reading.
This checklist has five items. You can run it on any supplier in about ten minutes without contacting anybody, and when you do contact them, it tells you exactly which four or five questions to ask.

The five checks
Check one: does this company synthesize or resell?
Start here, because the answer changes what every other answer is worth. A company that compounds, vials and finishes its own material has direct knowledge of how each lot was made and can tell you what happened when something went sideways. A company that buys finished vials and puts its label on them is passing your question up a chain it may not control, and sometimes doesn’t know the length of.
Neither model is disqualifying on its own. What matters is that the site tells you which one it is. Some do this clearly, like Biotech Peptides, which publicly states that “peptides are domestically synthesized,” or Cosmic Peptides, which publicly states it uses “solid-phase peptide synthesis using pharmaceutical-grade reagents.” Others describe location without describing process, and phrases like “bottled in the USA” or “US made and shipped” tell you where the last step happened without telling you where the first one did.
We run our own cGMP laboratory. We compound, vial, finish, label and run QC in-house, which means the chain of custody for any vial we ship stays with us. We also contract-manufacture and fulfil for other peptide brands, which is a normal thing for a lab of this kind to do and which we mention only because it explains why our capacity looks the way it does.
Check two: is the testing laboratory named?
This is the one that does the most work, and it’s the one almost nobody clears. Across the suppliers we reviewed for our supplier ranking, exactly two named an analytical lab on public pages. BioLongevity Labs publicly states that certificates come “from SafeCert Labs, an independent CLIA certified facility.” Sports Technology Labs takes a slightly different route and publicly states that it shares certificates carrying lab contact information, along with advice we think is genuinely good: call the lab and confirm the results are real before you buy.
Everyone else uses a category description. An accredited American third-party laboratory. A reputable third party analytical testing lab recognized by the research community. An independent US analytical lab. Those phrases aren’t false, and we’re not suggesting the testing didn’t happen. This is not a claim that the documentation does not exist, only that it was not publicly listed on the pages reviewed 2026-09-08. But an unnamed lab is a claim, and a named lab is a credential, and the difference is that you can pick up a phone and interrogate one of them.

Check three: what’s actually on the panel?
Most suppliers publish two tests. HPLC establishes purity, mass spectrometry establishes identity, and together they answer the question of whether this is the molecule you ordered and how much of the powder is that molecule rather than something else. That’s a real answer and it matters.
What those two tests can’t tell you is anything about how the vial was filled. Bacterial endotoxin testing looks for pyrogenic contamination from gram-negative bacteria, which is the kind of thing that survives a clean-looking synthesis and can quietly wreck a cell culture experiment. Sterility testing asks whether viable organisms are present in the finished container. Both speak to the environment and the process rather than the molecule.
Very few sites publish them. Ascend Bio Labs is one of the exceptions and publicly states “third-party HPLC + LC-MS, endotoxin, and heavy metal testing on every batch,” which is more than most of the field commits to. Sterility appeared on almost nothing we reviewed.
We run a full panel on every lot: identity, >99% purity, bacterial endotoxin and sterility. When you’re reading someone else’s page, the useful move is to check whether the panel list is a list or a summary, since “rigorous analytical verification” is a summary and “HPLC, LC-MS, endotoxin” is a list.
Check four: can you read the COA before you pay?
There’s a real difference between three sentences that sound similar. “COAs available before purchase” means you can verify first. “Certificates of analysis with each order” means you verify after the money’s gone. “Third-party tested” means neither, and describes an activity without promising you’ll ever see the output.
Some vendors do this well. Protide Health publicly states it publishes “batch-specific certificates of analysis for every compound” in a public COA library. Verified Peptides publicly states it has over 500 published certificates viewable on its lab tests page, which is one of the deeper public archives in this market. PSPeptides publicly states that results for the batches currently shipping are always posted, which is a good detail because a certificate that isn’t tied to what’s in the warehouse right now is a historical document.
The thing to look for once you have a certificate in front of you is whether it carries a lot number, and whether that lot number matches the vial you receive. Without that link the document could belong to any batch the company has ever made. We put a batch COA behind every lot, print the lot number on every vial, and state roughly a 24-month lyophilized expiration so you know how long the material’s specification is meant to hold.
Check five: is blend composition disclosed per component?
Blends are where disclosure quietly falls apart. A listing that reads “BPC-157 & TB-500 Blend, 20mg” has told you the total and hidden the split, and a 20mg blend could be 10 and 10 or it could be 18 and 2. Those are different products with different behavior, and the page treats them as the same thing.
A few suppliers handle this properly. Protide Health publicly lists a KLOW blend as “50mg/10/10/10 (GHK-CU, KPV, BPC-157, TB-500),” which is exactly the format that should be standard. BioLongevity Labs publicly states component milligrams on several blend listings. Limitless Life Nootropics publicly states component doses on some blends, including a CJC-1295 and Ipamorelin pairing broken out as 6mg and 12mg.
We disclose composition per component on every blend. GLOW is 70mg of GHK-Cu, BPC-157 and TB-500. KLOW is 80mg and adds KPV. Wolverine is 20mg of BPC-157 and TB-500. If a supplier won’t give you the split when you ask directly, that’s information too.
Where competitors beat us
Worth saying plainly, because a checklist written by a manufacturer that happened to conclude the manufacturer wins everything wouldn’t be worth reading. We carry 34 compounds. BioLongevity Labs publicly states 150+ and Core Peptides shows 104 results, so if the compound you need is unusual, there’s a decent chance one of them stocks it and we don’t. Several vendors also offer free domestic shipping at lower thresholds than the field average, with Swiss Chems publicly stating free shipping over $100 and PSPeptides publicly stating free shipping on any order. Those are real advantages and you should weigh them.
Our processing time is within 1 business day, and we ship lyophilized peptides at room temperature because that is how the material stays stable in transit. We’re not going to claim we beat a same-day cutoff we don’t offer.

How to verify any supplier yourself
- Email and ask for the name of the analytical laboratory, then look it up and call it yourself. A specific name is a checkable fact and a category description is not, and how a company handles that question tells you a lot before the lab ever picks up.
- Ask for a recent COA for the specific compound you want, and check that it carries a lot number, a test date within a sensible window, and a panel listed test by test.
- When your order arrives, match the lot number on the vial to the lot number on the certificate. If either one is missing, the document and the material aren’t connected.
- For blends, request the milligram breakdown per component in writing before ordering rather than after.
- Ask directly whether the company synthesizes the material or purchases finished vials. A straight answer either way is a good sign, and a company that won’t answer has answered.

Frequently asked questions
What if a supplier refuses to name its testing lab?
Ask why, and listen to the reason rather than dismissing them outright. There are legitimate answers, including contract terms with the lab that restrict naming, and some smaller vendors genuinely don’t know because their upstream supplier arranged the testing. What you learn either way is where you sit in the chain, and if the answer is that they can’t find out, then their quality claims rest on somebody else’s word rather than their own.
Does a GMP claim mean the same thing everywhere?
Not reliably, no. GMP describes a set of manufacturing practices, and companies use it with varying degrees of precision, so you’ll see “GMP protocols,” “GMP-compliant,” “cGMP facility” and “ISO 9001:2015 certified” used across sites that are doing quite different things. ISO 9001 in particular is a quality management standard rather than a pharmaceutical manufacturing one. The useful follow-up is asking who audits the facility and how recently, because that’s the part with a document behind it.
How current does a certificate of analysis need to be?
It should correspond to the lot you’re receiving, which is the only real answer. A certificate from eighteen months ago tells you about material that was made eighteen months ago, and if it’s being presented as documentation for a fresh shipment, the connection has been broken somewhere. Check the test date against the lot number and against your expected expiration, and if those three things don’t line up, ask.
Does refrigerated shipping signal a better supplier?
Not for lyophilized peptides, which stay stable at room temperature during transit. Refrigeration matters for reconstituted material and for certain non-lyophilized preparations, so a supplier advertising it for lyophilized powder is either shipping something other than what you think or adding a cost that doesn’t buy you anything. What actually protects the vial in transit is packaging that stops it breaking and a reasonable processing time on their end.
Are these products for human use?
No. Research peptides are intended for laboratory use by qualified professionals, and nothing described here is an approved drug, a supplement, or anything meant for human or veterinary consumption. If a supplier’s site edges toward dosing advice or personal use language, treat that as a data point about their compliance posture generally.
