I also want to say plainly that several of its pages returned HTTP 403 errors on my pass, including an about page URL, the custom peptide synthesis page and the order information page. That’s an access restriction hitting my request rather than a hole in their paperwork, and I’ve kept the two things separate everywhere below.

Which five questions actually settle a vendor comparison?

Here’s the rubric, set out before either name appears again so you can see it wasn’t reverse-engineered to produce a winner.

Provenance comes first. Does the site say it makes the material, or does it describe partnering, sourcing or distribution? Both are ordinary ways to run a peptide business, and neither predicts purity. What the answer predicts is who can respond when you have a question about one specific lot. The party that ran the synthesis has a batch record. The party that bought the vials has an email thread with a supplier.

Second, the laboratory. Is it named? A certificate carrying a laboratory’s name and location is checkable, which means someone outside the transaction can confirm or contradict it. A certificate carrying only a vendor logo asks you to trust the party selling you the product. Plenty of honest companies operate that way, and the resulting document is still weaker evidence.

Third, the panel. HPLC purity tells you how much of the peak is your compound relative to other peaks. Mass spectrometry tells you the compound is the one on the label, which purity alone cannot establish. Bacterial endotoxin and sterility are separate assays that matter for anything approaching cell culture. Counting the assays is a fast way to size up a certificate.

Fourth, access and linkage. Can you open the certificate before you pay, without an account, and does the lot number on it match the number printed on the vial? A certificate that arrives after the money has moved is a receipt for a decision you already made.

Fifth, blends. Multi-component vials need a milligram split per component on the product page, and a certificate that reports each component rather than a combined number. Without that, the concentration per component in your reconstituted vial is arithmetic you can’t actually do.

Company age isn’t in the rubric. A vendor founded last quarter that posts a lot-tied certificate is more checkable than one founded decades ago that doesn’t.

That’s the whole reason the name appears in this piece. Blank Peptides is not one of the two vendors being compared here and nothing below is an argument for choosing it. Naming the origin of the rubric just lets you check that it hasn’t been tilted toward either side.

What Phoenix Peptide and Protide Health publicly state

Phoenix Pharmaceuticals first. The homepage states the company offers “Research Peptides, Custom Peptide Synthesis, Antibody Production, and Assay kits,” describes products as “Made in the USA,” and states its “primary facilities are located in the tech capital of the world, Silicon Valley.” The about page states “All production is done in-house in the USA,” gives “330 Beach Road, Burlingame, CA 94010, USA” as the lab address, cites “over 50 years of experience,” states the team can “synthesize everything from short, simple peptides to long difficult ones with multiple disulfide bridges,” and states “Guaranteed Purity of up to >95%.” The peptide category page states these are “Chemically synthesized peptides manufactured 100% in the USA” and displayed 20 entries in the section that loaded, without a catalog total.

Not listed on the Phoenix pages reviewed 2026-09-08: a third-party testing laboratory by name, the analytical method behind the >95% figure, mass spectrometry identity confirmation, bacterial endotoxin or sterility results, and any certificate viewable before purchase. The about page carries a heading reading “Our Lab Certification” with no certification detail under it in the version I loaded, and the product-level pages where a reagent house would normally hang a data sheet are largely the ones that returned 403. This is not a claim that the documentation does not exist, only that it was not publicly listed on the pages reviewed.

Protide Health documents a different way. Its about page states “We partner with ISO-certified and GMP-compliant facilities to ensure every compound is synthesized to the highest institutional standards,” which describes partnered synthesis rather than owned production, and it names the analytical side outright: “Every batch is independently tested by Freedom Diagnostics, a third-party U.S. laboratory.” The stated panel is specific. “Testing covers identity by liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry (LC-MS), purity by high-performance liquid chromatography with UV detection (HPLC-UV), endotoxin by LAL assay (USP <85>), and net content.” The site states “Certificates of Analysis (COAs) are published for every compound.”

The COA archive backs that up. It opened without a login on my pass, listed certificates with both a COA number and a lot number in the format “COA: 2608240764” and “Lot: PH-nasn10-0609,” offered PDF viewing and download, and the site footer stated “152 public third-party COAs from the last 180 days.” Product pages carry the same linkage: the Klow blend page states “80mg lyophilized powder in 3mL vial. Contains: GHK-Cu (50mg), KPV (10mg), BPC-157 (10mg), TB-500 (10mg)” and links two lot-specific certificates. Catalog pages showed 83 products across six categories, with shipping stated as “2-3 Day US Delivery Free shipping over $199.”

The clear strength on the Protide Health side is that linkage, a named laboratory attached to a public, lot-numbered archive you can open before ordering, with blend milligrams on the product page. That combination is uncommon. The gap on the pages reviewed is sterility: the stated panel covers identity, purity, endotoxin and net content, and sterility wasn’t among them, though “Purity, sterility” language appears in some marketing elsewhere. Phoenix’s own strength sits in a different place entirely, since it publishes a street address for production it says it owns and sells a research reagent range, antibodies, assay kits and peptide libraries, that no research-use-only shop offers.

  • Ask each company, by email, for the certificate covering the exact lot they would ship you this week. Response time and whether the PDF carries a lot number tell you most of what you need.
  • Where a laboratory is named, check the laboratory’s own site and confirm it acknowledges the work, then match the name on the certificate against the name in the marketing copy.
  • Count the assays on the certificate rather than reading the summary line. Identity, purity, endotoxin and sterility are four separate results, and a panel missing one is missing one.
  • For blends, confirm the milligram split appears on the product page and that the certificate reports each component separately rather than as a combined figure.
  • Walk both vendors through the supplier verification checklist and record the answers in two columns, so what you’re comparing is documents rather than tone of voice.
