Peptide Vault vs Ascend Bio Labs: A Documentation Comparison

If you’ve spent an evening trying to work out which of two peptide vendors is the safer bet, you’ve probably hit the same wall I do. Both sites tell you they’re third-party tested. Both put a number above 99% somewhere near the top. Neither one, on the surface, gives you anything you could actually check with a phone call.

The information is usually there, just buried a few pages down where the traffic never goes. So the way to compare two companies is to read the quality page, the certificates index and one real product listing, then write down what each company committed to in its own words.

Worth saying where I’m standing before you weigh any of it. I write for a peptide manufacturer, and neither Peptide Vault nor Ascend Bio Labs is that manufacturer, so nothing here points you toward anything of mine. Everything below was publicly readable on the pages I reviewed on 2026-09-08, and where a page didn’t answer something I’ve recorded that rather than filling the space.

What can you check before you pay?

Here’s the rubric, fixed before either company is named, so it can’t be quietly reshaped to favour whichever site was easier to read.

Provenance comes first. Does the company state that it synthesizes the peptide, or does it describe supplying, producing, stocking, or making it available? Both describe real businesses, and a careful supplier can outperform a careless manufacturer on any given lot. But they hold different records. When something behaves strangely months later, only the company that ran the synthesis can look up what happened during it.

Second, is the laboratory named? I put this above the purity figure. A named laboratory is something you can look up independently, phone, and ask whether a report number is genuinely theirs. A phrase like “third-party tested” gives you nothing to act on, and the claim ends up resting entirely on the company making it.

Third, how wide is the panel? These are four separate results answering four separate questions. HPLC purity measures what fraction of the material is one compound. Mass spectrometry confirms which compound. Bacterial endotoxin and sterility describe the finished vial rather than the powder, and that pair is what matters for cell-based work. One of four is the market norm here.

Fourth, can you read a batch certificate before you pay, and does its identifier appear on the vial you receive? Those two conditions together are what make a document evidence about your material instead of a flattering sample of the company’s testing programme.

Fifth, on blends, are the milligrams stated per component? The same blend name at two vendors can hide two different ratios, and without the split you can’t calculate a working concentration. Company age and domain age stay off this list, because neither one describes a lot.

The standard used in this comparison

I’d rather name the origin of the yardstick than pretend it came from nowhere. These five checks are the ones Blank Peptides publishes its own lots against: in-house cGMP synthesis, named testing laboratories, a per-lot panel covering identity, purity, bacterial endotoxin and sterility, batch certificates of analysis keyed to the lot number printed on every vial, and blend composition disclosed per component. Neither company below is that one, which is worth knowing before you read the rows.

What Peptide Vault publicly states

A clarification first, because search results muddle this one. Peptidevault.com resolved to a domain-for-sale page on 2026-09-08, and the site reviewed here is peptidevaultlabs.com, trading as Peptide Vault Labs.

On provenance, the homepage states products are “Made in the USA” and “Produced in a controlled U.S. facility under strict laboratory standards,” while the about page states the company “supplies research-grade peptides and laboratory materials to researchers, institutions, and analytical labs.” The recurring verb is “supplies.” Whether the company owns the facility described, or performs the synthesis inside it, was not listed on the pages reviewed 2026-09-08. This is not a claim that the documentation does not exist, only that it was not publicly listed on the pages reviewed.

On testing, the site states “Third-Party Batch Tested” and refers to “independent analytical documentation.” The COA library header states that “Every batch is third-party tested for identity, purity, and quantity by HPLC and mass spectrometry,” and a “≥99% Purity Standard” appears across the site. Two assays named by method is more than a lot of this market bothers with. No laboratory was named on any page I reviewed on 2026-09-08.

The batch index is the strongest thing on the site and the concession I’ll make plainly. It states: “Search published analytical records by product or batch number,” and rows carry batch identifiers in a PVL-prefixed format, purity figures running from roughly 99.08% to 99.62%, and an endotoxin column reading “None.” The point I’d emphasise is that all of it resolved and was browsable on the review date, which is not something I could say for the other company’s certificate index. Sterility was not among the listed parameters, and I couldn’t find a downloadable certificate document behind any individual row, which is the gap between a published result and a laboratory’s own signed report.

On blends, the site lists four: KLOW at 80 mg, GLOW, CJC-1295 with Ipamorelin at 10 mg, and BPC-157 with TB-500 at 10 mg. The KLOW page states it is “formulated with BPC-157, TB-500, GHK-Cu, and KPV,” and the GLOW page names BPC-157, TB-500 and GHK-Cu. Milligrams per component were not listed, and the GLOW total appeared as 80 mg on the shop grid against 70 mg on its own product page. The site advertises “Same-Day Fulfillment,” and the footer states products are “not intended for human or veterinary use.”

What Ascend Bio Labs publicly states

Ascend Bio Labs operates at ascendbiolabs.com, which resolved normally on 2026-09-08.

On provenance, the site states products are “Synthesized, tested, and shipped entirely from the United States,” and the shop header states “Research-grade peptides. Third-party tested. Batch-level certificates of analysis. USA-made.” A statement naming the entity that performs that synthesis, or describing a facility the company operates itself, was not listed on the pages reviewed 2026-09-08. So the country gets answered and the operator stays open, which is the same shape of gap Peptide Vault leaves with the word “supplies.”

On testing, the site is more specific about the panel than most. It states “Third-party HPLC + LC-MS, endotoxin, and heavy metal testing on every batch,” and clarifies the division of labour as “HPLC for purity, LC-MS for identity.” That’s four named assays including one, heavy metals, that barely anyone in this market publishes. Purity is stated as a “99%+ minimum purity standard” with “99.3% Avg. verified purity” quoted as an aggregate. A sterility result was not listed on the pages reviewed 2026-09-08, and the testing laboratory was not named anywhere in the site copy.

Certificate linkage is where Ascend Bio Labs earns a concession I’ll give without hedging. The site states that “every vial carries a unique batch ID linking to its public COA,” and that “the COA is stamped with the batch number, test date, and lab name and uploaded to the product page before any vial from that lot ships.” Products in the shop carry a “COA Verified” marker. If the certificate really does print the issuing laboratory’s name, then the lab-name row gets answered at the document level even though the marketing copy never states it, and the vial-to-document linkage is about as tight as this market gets. The honest limit alongside that: a dedicated certificate index page did not resolve during the review on 2026-09-08, so the practical move is opening the product page for the compound you actually want rather than looking for a library.

On catalog and blends, the homepage states “38+ compounds” while the shop listed roughly 42 products on 2026-09-08 and a “27+ compounds” figure appeared elsewhere, which I’d file as an inconsistency and nothing heavier. Blends are mixed: a CJC no DAC and Ipamorelin blend is stated as 5 mg and 5 mg, while a Wolverine Blend described as “BPC-157 + TB-500” shows a 20 mg total with no per-component split listed. Shipping is stated as same-day dispatch before 2pm CT with free US shipping above $300, and products are stated to be “for laboratory research use only” and “not for human or veterinary consumption.”

How to verify either supplier yourself

  • Open an Ascend Bio Labs product page and download the certificate it links, then read the laboratory name stamped on it. The site states that name is printed on every document, so this is the fastest route to a laboratory you can independently look up and phone.
  • Ask Peptide Vault for the signed laboratory report behind a batch index row rather than the row itself. A published figure and a laboratory’s own document are different objects, and only the second names an issuer you can contact.
  • Ask both companies in writing which laboratory performed the testing, and who performs the synthesis. Neither site answers the second question, and a straight reply tells you something either way.
  • Ask about sterility specifically, since neither published a sterility result on the pages reviewed 2026-09-08, and confirm that any endotoxin figure applies to the exact lot you’d receive rather than to a representative batch.
  • Score both against the supplier verification checklist so the same rows get filled in for each company instead of whichever rows each site makes convenient.

Sterility was absent from both, which is a limit on what was publicly readable that day.
