NAD+ FAQ

Where can I buy NAD+ peptide for research?

Blank Peptides sells NAD+ in 500mg and 1000mg vials, produced in our cGMP labs in the USA. Plenty of people shop for it as a peptide and it sits on the same shelf, though chemically it is a dinucleotide coenzyme. Each vial ships with a certificate of analysis matched to its lot and readable before checkout. Processing time is within 1 business day.

What is NAD+?

NAD+, nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, is a coenzyme present in every living cell and central to redox reactions and cellular energy metabolism. It is a dinucleotide rather than a peptide, which is worth knowing before you order. Research interest sits in sirtuin activation, mitochondrial function and DNA repair signalling.

What purity is your NAD+, and who verifies it?

Greater than 99%. Identity and purity are established by HPLC and mass spectrometry in our own laboratory, then confirmed by an independent run at Freedom Diagnostics or Horizon Analytical. Bacterial endotoxin testing is performed on every batch before release, and the lot-specific certificate is published for you to read.

How do I reconstitute NAD+ 500mg or 1000mg?

NAD+ is one of two exceptions to our 1mL per 10mg standard, because the mass involved makes that ratio impractical. Larger solvent volumes are used instead. A common laboratory approach is 5mL of bacteriostatic water into a 500mg vial and 10mL into a 1000mg vial, both giving 100mg/mL. Add the water slowly and swirl.

Why does NAD+ come in 500mg and 1000mg when peptides come in 10mg?

Because it is a coenzyme, not a signalling peptide, and research protocols work at a completely different scale. Milligram-per-vial figures across our peptide catalogue reflect receptor-level pharmacology. NAD+ work is metabolic and uses far more material, which is why the vial sizes and the reconstitution volumes both jump by two orders of magnitude.

How should NAD+ be stored?

Sealed lyophilized vials at -20C, dark and dry. NAD+ is hygroscopic, so keeping moisture out matters more here than with most of the catalogue. Once reconstituted, keep it refrigerated at 2 to 8C, protect from light, and use within a short window. NAD+ in solution is less stable than lyophilized powder by a wide margin.

NAD+ vs glutathione for cellular research?

Different chemistry and different roles. NAD+ is a dinucleotide coenzyme that drives redox reactions and feeds sirtuin activity. Glutathione is a tripeptide that acts as the cell's main antioxidant buffer. Both are high-mass, non-peptide-style SKUs in our range, and studies of oxidative and metabolic stress often involve both.

How is NAD+ shipped, and is it legal to buy?

It ships from inside the USA in plain outer packaging with a processing time within 1 business day. NAD+ is supplied as a research chemical for laboratory use, not as a drug, supplement or veterinary product, and this material holds no FDA approval. Ordering confirms qualified research use only.
